2020 Raisina Dialogue, New Delhi/India

First stop after my New Zealand summer vacation was New Delhi for the 2020 Raisina Dialogue,  India's flagship conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics, where I participated as a member of the Club de Madrid. Ministers from a number of countries attended, along with former leaders and other key personnel, including New Zealand's first female Deputy Chief of Navy, Commodore Melissa Ross. I took part in the opening session and other panels and events. Especially interesting sessions, given their roles in key issues affecting our world, were those with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, USA Deputy National Security Advisor Matt Pottinger, and Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif. I also caught up with Preeti Sudan, Secretary of the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and champion of The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health.
