“After leaving politics in New Zealand, and then completing two terms as Administrator at the UNDP, I looked to see how I might contribute to supporting the development of sound policies that could stand the test of time. To that end, I established The Helen Clark Foundation (THCF) to promote evidence-based and well-reasoned policy in a non-partisan way. It sets out to synthesise existing research and knowledge into good policy proposals which are practical and can be implemented. Overall, the Foundation aims to support social cohesion, fairness, and sustainability in a well-functioning democracy.” Helen Clark, Patron, in a speech to THCF members and supporters, 14 December 2023.
